Carla Parris is an Entertainment and Sports Lawyer with a Master’s Degree in Entertainment Law, A TED X 2018 Speaker, and CEO of an online educational services company Parris Productions Ltd which produces the web and TV series The Business Of Carnival ® which she produces and hosts.
The series which has recently been picked up by the Streaming Platform The Roku Channel, is the first series of its kind which through its talk show format with celebrity guests, educates viewers on the legal and business aspects of the Caribbean carnival industry.
She operates the first boutique law practice in Trinidad & Tobago whose focus is in the area of Entertainment, Intellectual Property& Sports Law where she provides specialist legal advice to persons in the music, sports, film, fashion, events and broadcast sector. She has operated as a consultant for the government of Trinidad & Tobago, the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Commission (OECS), the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee.
Parris has also been a guest lecturer in the Film department of the University of the West Indies & taught Intellectual Property Law in over 20 conferences including Jamaica, Antigua and St Lucia. She has also attended global music business conferences such as the Revolt Music conference and many American Bar Association events.
