
BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Longsworth has held senior leadership roles in university teaching and leadership as well as in the private sector in the areas of Manufacturing and Financial Services in Jamaica, the British Virgin Islands and Belize. Over the past 20 years she has also participated in, and led consultancies across the region and in the UK working with international and regional organisations and Companies such as Ernst and Young (Caribbean), Unicomer (Courts) Belize, The Leadership Foundation (UK), Fortis Belize, the Development Bank of Jamaica, among others. After a stellar career of nearly 30 years at the University of the West Indies where she completed her tenure in 2021 as Principal and Pro Vice-Chancellor of the UWI Open Campus and Global Affairs, she joined the Sandals Resorts International team in 2022 as Senior Corporate Director for the Sandals Corporate University where she oversees the training and development of over 18,000 team members located in nine Caribbean countries.
Keenly community oriented, Dr. Longsworth has worked with at risk youths in Western Jamaica, Belize, Barbados and the British Virgin Islands, as well as serves on the boards of several regional, international and community-based organizations. She is currently the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees for the University of Belize and an Honorary Fellow of the Vancouver based Commonwealth of Learning (COL) since 2016 . As a founding member of COL’s Commonwealth Wise Women initiative, she has been involved in mentoring young women across the Commonwealth and has a passion for training and coaching emerging leaders.
